Memorials in St John the Baptist, Piddington

Image
After a recent request for a photo of one of the memorials inside the church, we took some photos and made an album available. You can see it here (https://goo.gl/photos/Vd11Pf3kTdHMJP2D6) We also had a request to install a sign indicating that we have commonwealth war graves in our churchyard and that is now in place. In fact, there is just one commonwealth grave in our graveyard, which you can see below. This stone commemorates R.E.G. Hall (T/179137) a Driver with the Royal Army Service Corps, who died on the 29th of February, 1944, aged 28.

Well done Year 4 Hackleton CEVA Primary

Image
Naomi came back to church to report on Year 4's sponsored silence for WaterAid. The class managed a whole hour of silence, including Gill Watson, who had popped into class to watch them. Together they have raised over £1,000. This is a magnificent total and it is thought that with the outstanding monies due to be collected they should reach £1,100. So well done Naomi and all of class 4 at Hackleton Primary School! Thank you to all who sponsored class 4 . She will be returning to church in 2 weeks time to report on the outcome of the event and how much was raised in total. Thank you Naomi. If you too would like to sponsor the children of Year 4 in their sponsored silence for Water Aid then please contact Freddy (Andrew) Knowles on  870103 or email  Freddy  In addition to this during Lent all Piddington Church cash collections will be going towards buying some bibles for Hackleton School.
