Advent

Image
Dear Friends It feels like Advent has crept up on us very quickly this year, and we enter into that time which reminds us that God is with us, in all the topsy turvy oddness of the world, Emmanuel has come. In Living Brook we will be observing Advent by following the Church of England's 'Comfort and Joy' activities, which different members of the team will talk about each week in our services, starting this week with Angie. For those of you who are not able to follow morning prayer on WhatsApp or the website, a new prayer booklet will be arriving through your door during the coming week, with services and prayers for Advent that you can use alongside the weekly readings sheet .   We'd love everyone to make, draw, print out or (if you really aren't into craft) buy an angel to put in your window where everyone can see it. Just as many people put rainbows in their windows in the first lockdown, let's bring Advent Comfort and joy with reminders that Go

Canon Beverley apologies for not making this announcement earlier but there was an embargo on it until Sunday 22nd November

Carols on your doorstep

Image
As we get closer to Christmas and already know that this Christmas is going to be quite different - we hope we can also make it quite memorable too. We are asking you to join in on Wednesday 16th December between 6-7 pm with ‘Carols on your doorstep’ where we will join others in singing carols alongside music being hosted by Radio Northampton - which will help keep in time and tune! So don’t be embarrassed - this is your chance to bring some Christmas cheer to your neighbours! Please tell other people and who knows how loud our choir across Northamptonshire will be!  You can access the Carol sheet here

Harvest Quiz

Image
It is with regret that the Social and Fundraising Committee of St John the Baptist, Piddington with Horton has postponed the Harvest Quiz and Supper. We have made this decision because of the new measures that restrict how many people can meet up. We hope to be able to put the quiz on in the new year. We are very grateful to everyone who supports this annual fun event and hope we can soon have you scratching your heads when our wonderful quiz mistress Jane starts the quiz, be prepared for even more fiendish questions as Jane has longer to prepare the quiz!
