Growth Action Plan

The Living Brook Benefice Growth Action Plan

At our first Living Brook Vision Day on April 5th 2014, members of the benefice identified five common priorities:

·        Numerical growth

·        More children, young people and families

·        Enhanced worship

·        Enhanced discipleship

·        Engagement with social media and the internet

As we work to put these priorities into practice, there are actions to take at benefice and parish level, and we aim to support each other across the benefice in all of the actions we are taking to grow our churches.

These actions, and the Benefice priority areas, will appear on every PCC agenda as we do our best to achieve our goals. It isn’t just the job of the PCC’s though! Every member is part of the mission of our Benefice, and we hope that all with join in as we work to grow and improve all that we do together.

Our GAP launch service was held at 11am on

September 14th at St. Edmund’s, Hardingstone, when all our congregations joined together to celebrate.

Revd Miles Baker, Diocesan Mission Enabler, presided.

We will review and update the GAP during a

Celebration Service and Simultaneous PCC

on Tuesday 9th June 2015.

GAP Actions 2014-15

At Benefice level, we have four key actions that will support our work:
  1. We will offer an annual cycle of courses for new Christians, starting by offering the Pilgrim course on Wednesday evenings from September 10th, basing them at St John the Baptist, Piddington.
  2. We will bring together leaders engaging in work with children, young people and families in all our parishes to ensure a co-ordinated programme and sharing of resources, meeting initially in July 2014.
  3. We will form a Benefice Ministry Leadership Team, by September 2014, with members co-ordinating work in priority areas and bringing together groups from across the area to support their focus area.
  4. We will offer a training session for welcomers and vergers by Christmas 2014.

St Edmund’s, Hardingstone
